Many
things, such as your nationality and the length of your studies, will affect
the type of permit you need. If you come form outside the EU/EEA, you usually need a student residence permit. For more information of the permits, please visit
the Finnish Immigration
Service (Migri) website.
You can start
your residence permit application process after being admitted to KAMK. The application
process needs to be started within 14 days from the admission notification, and
you must provide proof that you have applied for the residence permit within
14 days and paying the tuition fee as instructed. Attach the acceptance letter and the receipt of your tuition fee payment from Flywire for your residence permit application.
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) provides step-by-step instructions on how to apply for the student residence permit. Please check the detailed student residence permit requirements and procedures on the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) website. You can also use the Migri guide for students to assist you on how to apply for the first permit via the Enter Finland online service.
When
applying, please remember to also request registration in the Finnish
Population Information System. This will give you a Finnish personal identity number
(social security number SSN), which is mandatory during your stay in
Finland. Please send the picture of your residence permit as soon as possible
by encrypted email to studyoffice@kamk.fi.
