Our campus – let’s keep it safe!

Kajaani University of Applied Sciences emphasizes comprehensive on-campus security and safety

As far as we are concerned, a safe and secure campus means taking into account all security and safety related issues. In other words, all traditional security related areas, and specifically wellbeing, feeling safe and focusing attention on creating a good, open atmosphere in the campus environment. We particularly want to improve security through wellbeing.

Creating a safe and pleasant study and working environment is a goal we all share; Security is everybody’s responsibility

The President of our UAS carries the overall responsibility for security. Assistance is provided by the Head of Security and a security working party consisting of different operators. We would also like all the students and staff who work on campus to become involved in security and safety promotion work and to have their say in security and safety related issues.

We have added a security initiative form to our website. Use the form to tell us about security related development initiatives and ideas or of security related defects etc. that you may have observed.

We carry out predictive security work

We organize security and safety related training courses and exercises for all students and staff. E.g. we organize security information meetings for our first year undergraduates. Everyone also receives a small security guide containing instructions in case of accidents. There is more information and instructions concerning safety and security available in the extranet, on the notice boards located in different areas of the campus and via the info-TV screens.

In our opinion good quality means making security a part of what we do every day. We want to provide ours students and staff with a safe, healthy and attractive study and working environment.
We are constantly developing our security operations. You can also take part and make your campus a more secure and pleasant place to be. Please do not hesitate to contact the staff in issues concerning safety and security.
