Main University Regulations  

KAMK is a state-recognized institution in Finland. The activities in universities of applied sciences are regulated by the Polytechnics Act (932/2014). The government decree on polytechnics/universities of applied sciences (1129/2014) defines the objectives, extent and overall structure of degrees. 

KAMK was granted a permanent operating licence on 1.8.1996 / (20/401/1995). 

Ministry of Education and Culture

The Ministry of Education and Culture confirms the degree programmes of universities of applied sciences, and within the framework of these regulations, the universities of applied sciences decide on the content and structure of their degrees in more detail.

European Qualification Framework

The European Qualifications Framework provides a tool for defining the interrelations of national qualifications and qualifications systems. Each country references its national qualifications to the eight levels of the European Qualifications Framework, by using national qualifications frameworks or levels of national qualifications systems as guides. More information.

Fineec Audited

The quality  assurance system of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) has passed the audit conducted by the Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC) in 2021. The quality label is valid until 24 March 2027.

The documents related to the operating licence are translations from Finnish and are legally binding only in Finnish.
