11/17/2020 12:00 PM

This 3-year Erasmus+ funded project, SHARPEN (SMEs HRM Attraction, Retention, Performance Enhancement Network) ended on 31st August 2019; however, its impact and contributions to enhance the people management competencies and knowledge about SMEs (small, medium-sized enterprises) continue sustainably. The project has brought together five European regions including Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, a large team of HR specialists, regional organisations, partner SMEs, and 90+ students consisting 20 nationalities.

Last week, it was announced that the SHARPEN project has won a prestigious award. The prize was awarded by the People Management Forum in the Czech Republic where the lead manager of the SHARPEN project, Technical University of Liberec, is based. The award ceremony will take place in Prague in April 2021 due to the current COVID-19 situation.

The journey has not been an easy one, but the learning opportunity was amazing for every member of the SHARPEN family, both students, and staff. Click this interactive link to watch a short video clip to bring back good memories of the productive, fruitful, and exciting path the SHARPEN team had walked through together.

Since the end of the project, the outputs and materials developed are offered as a 5-credit online DevMoodle course, ‘HRM practices for regional SMEs’. If you are interested to learn more about HRM for SMEs, contact Ruey Komulainen for more info.
