This is the second consecutive year of strong growth in the number of applicants, following a significant increase in the previous year.
There were seven English-taught Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at KAMK open for applications in the joint application round with a total of 125 study places available. All of the degrees attracted more applicants than last year. The most popular degree was the Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, which also increased its popularity the most from last year. A total of 3,423 applicants applied for Tourism, compared to 1,289 last year.
The strengths of KAMK and the variety of degrees offered interest the applicants. For the future, it is important for the region to employ graduates of KAMK to stay in the region. “We are pleased with the fact that Kajaani is an interesting study place for students from all over the world. New students bring new skills and insights to businesses in the region when they graduate. I challenge local employers to employ these young people in Kainuu. They could play a more significant role in solving the labour shortage in our region,” says President Matti Sarén.
The entrance exams will be arranged in February – March. The results of student selection for the English-taught degrees will be published by 2 June, 2023 at the latest.
