Kajaani University of Applied Sciences has joined the ICT alliance of Finnish universities and research institutes, Allied ICT Finland (AIF). Membership in AIF will strengthen the activities of KAMK and will ensure that KAMK will be more closely involved in the development of the IT field both in Finland and internationally.
"The significance of the Alliance for Finland at the European level is paramount," says Arto Maaninen, the Chairman of Allied ICT Finland's National Steering Group. "By combining the expertise of research institutes and the needs of companies, we can set up a framework to bring Finland back to the top in ICT."
One of the goals of the alliance is to get a permanent investment spike worth billions by utilising the capacity of the research institutes for the needs of businesses.
"The network makes it possible for KAMK to develop our strengths in the fields of data centres and artificial intelligence, together with the best partners in Finland. Our expertise and way of working have received positive feedback, and I believe that we can both learn a lot and contribute significantly as part of the network," says President Matti Sarén of Kajaani University of Applied Sciences.
Allied ICT Finland is an alliance founded in 2018 with 15 universities and research centres, seven cities and some 3,000 ICT professionals. More information on the alliance: https://alliedict.fi/
