Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is organizing an International Week for its partner universities from the 25th February to 1st March 2019. The objective of the week is to introduce KAMK’s operations to representatives of the partner universities and also to reinforce and develop co-operation. The themes this year are for example Intercultural Communication, Cultural and Diversity Management, Use of Technology in Nurse Education and Smart Solutions for Wellbeing Service Development and Management.
Altogether 60 participants, both teachers, staff members and students from 15 different countries and 23 different universities will join our International Week. The international week is now being arranged for the sixth time.
The week's program includes teaching by guest lecturers and workshops about different topics. The International Week provides the guests the opportunity to exchange information and network with colleagues from different universities. The participants will be introduced to Finnish language and culture and they will be offered the opportunity to try typical winter activities such as snowshoeing and winter swimming. A group of students is involved with the practical arrangements through their studies.
The International Week at the School of Health introduces three intensive courses: Use of Technology in Nurse Education (EBP 2019), Creative Solutions for Aging Populations and Their Informal Caregivers ja Smart Solutions for Wellbeing Development and Management. In addition to KAMK students and teachers, teachers and students from our partner universities in Germany, Latvia, Belgium, Scotland and Lithuania join these courses which offer students and teachers with an opportunity to work in international teams.
Our International Week enables us to focus all our efforts on our guests and to offer them a more versatile and memorable program and social activities.
