Jobs and Applicants Meet at Jobstep
Jobstep.net is a net recruitment service of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciencs. The site consists of two different services; an employment service and an information service. The system includes 30 polytechnics and it operates in Finnish, Swedish and English.
The employment service is a centralised site of vacancies for practical training, jobs, thesis work and other project jobs notified to polytechnics. Using the service requires registration.
The information service is open to all. It includes plenty of advice on for example studies at a UAS and how to find employment. Accessing the information service doesn’t require registration.
Find Your Dream Job on the Net
In the employment service, UAS students and recent graduates can look for vacancies, leave their CV information for employers to see or use a 'watch dog -service' which follows up vacancies and informs you of all suitable possibilities.
On your first visit register as a job seeker. When registering, you have to give your contact details, user ID and password. Your user ID is your student number including the prefix ‘kajak’ (for example, kajak12345). Your student number is the same as your user ID for ASIO. Your password, five digits minimum, you choose yourself. The system also asks for the starting date of your studies which you can find in ASIO.
In order to be able to use Jobstep you need an e-mail address, because the system will send you information by e-mail. Through the system you can also send your application directly by e-mail for a job that interests you.
Please do not forget to activate your CV after you have typed the details into the system. After this your CV can be viewed by employers for a month. The system will notify you automatically by e-mail before your CV expires.
