The Information Systems competence area includes game solutions & gamification, data center services and intelligent systems. The Research and Development activities focus on smart solutions, utilising measurement and sensor technology. KAMK's business information technology and information technology expertise are combined with the regionally and nationally significant Center of Measurement and Information Systems Research and Training - CEMIS

Examples of the projects

SGRL – Serious Gaming Research Lab (2015-2016), Tekes and ERDF funding

Project is developing SGRL service that provides serious games testing, evaluating/validating and research services. 

SeGaBu - Serious Games Platform for Business and Education (2015-2017), ESF funding
Project aims at developing gamified e-learning environment consisting of 30 ECTS serious gaming studies, guide for serious games buyers and “databuffet”, platform to share information and assets for both serious games developers and buyers.

SIMPPELI (2015-2017), ESF funding
Project is developing and piloting serious games assignment protocol (from companies to students) and developing existing virtual environments for use in other educational needs such as nursing and business studies.

ATHENE+ Future exergaming environment (2013-2015), Tekes funding
Project developed ATHENE-exergaming virtual environment, where games, gamification and new technological solutions (such as VR) becomes as part of new exercising, entertaining, rehabilitation and virtual environment. Spinoff company, CSE Entertainment, continues the development work.
