In the School of Information Systems, we provide first class game industry competence and Finland’s best data center learning environment and supercomputer. Our R&D and Business Services include Serious game applications and Data Centre Competence.  

KAMK has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for use in both the data center and game development studies. KAMK’s single campus area facilitates smooth co-operation between the various fields of education and different degrees often collaborate in practical projects. The following degrees are offered in Finnish at the School of Information Technology:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology

The objective of the Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology at Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, is to educate experts for information systems development, planning, programming and maintenance positions, as well as marketing and training positions in this industry. The studies apply a hands-on approach using KAMK’s top quality facilities and equipment in both data center and game development studies. At the moment, the degree is offered in Finnish but in the Game Development specialization, the second year of studies is offered in English.

The degree consists of theory studies, projects, practical training and a thesis. The degree’s basic studies provide a strong foundation for project work, enterprise and business, languages and communication, as well as the basics of programming, information security and information networks. After the first semester, the students specialize in data center solutions or game development studies based on aptitude, skills and the academic record for the autumn. The 20-week (30 credits) practical training in the industry can be completed either at home or abroad.
