Internationality

KAMK is a proactive, genuinely international university with a strong regional and national profile. We are the most international organisation in the region, with over 200 international students and offer 10 Bachelor's and 6 Master's degrees in Finnish and 4 Bachelor’s degrees in English: International Business, eSports Business, Tourism and Sports and Leisure Management and 1 Master's degree in English: International Business Management.

KAMK has a wide outreach in Finland and globally. The Finnish Education Evaluation Centre (FINEEC) awarded KAMK a quality label, which is valid for six years until 20 March 2021.

KAMK’s campus facilities include a state of art data center and game design labs, 3D printers, a robotics and virtual reality lab as well as a Smart Gym with a digitalised environment and games to boost training.

According to the KAMK’24 strategy there are following main principals:

  • KAMK is a true beneficiary of internationalisation and digitalisation.
  • Students are at the core of all activities.

In line with its strategy, KAMK aims to increase the quality and the attractiveness of KAMK operations and to increase the impact of R&D operations with the aid of selected partnerships and networks.

KAMK has about 75 R&D projects running every year and in many of them there are partners from the north, especially in projects funded by NSPA, Erasmus+ and the Nordic Council.

KAMK has partner universities and other partners in more than fourty countries. Each School in KAMK has its own partner in co-operation. You can find further information about our partner institutions here.

Exchange Programmes

UArctic_logo_cmyk.pngIn August 2017 Kajaani University of Applied Sciences has joined the Arctic University and Research Institute network (University of the Arctic – Uarctic). This membership strengthens KAMK’s operations and guarantees that KAMK is even more actively involved in developing far northern regions. More information on the network and its members is available on www.uarctic.org.
