Do you want to understand the secrets of Big Data and develop yourself as a Data Engineering?


Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is organizing a free training module in Big Data and data analytics. The training consists of three courses: Python for data engineers and Big Data Analytics I & II. The training is university level, 15 ECTS in total and possible to complete as online studies.

The training will take place between September 2021 and January 2022. The applicant can choose to complete the whole training or choose courses to complete. The training is possible to complete alongside work due to the courses being available fully online. Teaching is done in English.

The training is university level, so those who complete it may use the earned ECTS to be granted for their degree studies. The student must discuss acceptance of ECTS with their own university.

Courses - choose all or pick the most interesting ones

After this training, students will have the basic skills of programming in the Python programming language and Big Data analytics. Learned skills will help students to find work in the ICT industry and adapt to the changing requirements of the industry.

To who
The training is for all interested. Students are required to be able to work independently and have the willingness and enthusiasm to develop their skills. The basic skills of using a computer are required. Programming skills are not required to apply. Persons studying, living or working in the Kainuu area are prioritized when choosing students.

The training will be implemented between September 2021 and January 2022.

The courses will begin in the following manner:

  • Python for Data Engineers - September 2021
  • Big Data Analytics I - October 2021
  • Big Data Analytics II - November 2021
