Getting your hands dirty with blockchain
Kajaani University of Applied Sciences is organizing a free course Blockchain Primer (5 study credits) which is an introductory course to blockchains with no previous knowledge requirement. Blockchain Primer is a fully online course with free schedule for the studies and is completely in English.
The course offers an introduction to blockchains, the basics of technical details (in a non-technical manner!), mathematics and coding of blockchains, along with some of the main application areas where blockchains are currently used.
Later on, the course can be acknowledged as part of studies conducted in Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, University of Lapland, University of Oulu or University of Vaasa. For now, you need a study right in Kajaani University of Applied Sciences to get study credits from this course (for open university study rights at Kajaani, follow this link).
If you do not need study credits and you are a university student in Finland, you are free to request attendance to this course by applying below. Please note that participants are first selected from project participants' universities and only after that, if there is room, will other applicants be considered.
Why take this course?
After the course, the student will have the basic knowledge and vocabulary of blockchains with the possibility to continue their studies, build new applications and increase their understanding independently on blockchains.
Who should take this course?
The course is open to everyone interested on blockchains, with no advance knowledge requirement on the subject. The course requires skills in independent work, a will to develop know-how and basic use of computers. No prior coding, technical or mathematical experience is required. The course is held for maximum of 40 students.
This is the very first time the course is held, and organisers of the course would very much hope for feedback on the course. For the same reason, they very much hope that all the students taking the course would complete it.
When does the course take place?
