eAMSS2020 - Virtual Arctic Mines Summer School

The International Arctic Mines Summer School 2020 will be arranged as an on-line version due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the Virtual Arctic Mines Summer School is to provide students with an overview on mining industry in Finland and give an introduction to sustainable mining principles and technologies as well as circular economy principles in the mining industry.

Course assessment: pass – fail or in numbers from 1 to 5 (5 Excellent, 4 or 3 Good, 2 and 1 Satisfactory, 0 Fail)

Course assessment is based on active participation in sessions and group projects.

Application and Course Fee

The application period for the summer school 2020 is now open. Please complete the online registration form no later than 22 May, 2020. KAMK will send instructions for the course fee payment to the approved applicants by the end of May. Payment methods are invoice or online banking. The deadline for the payment is 6 June, 2020.

The participants should have completed at least one year basic studies in mining and/or mineral processing related subjects before joining the virtual summer school.

The Virtual Mining Summer School course (9 ECTS) consists of three different study modules. You can participate either in one module or all three. The course fees are:
- Sustainable Mining (4 ECTS): 60 euros
- Modern Mineral Processing (3 ECTS): 45 euros
- Arctic Mines (2 ECTS): 30 euros
