Applying to Master's Degrees in KAMK

The Master's degree will provide you with a deeper understanding of different aspects of business in the fast changing global operating environment. The studies focus on topics such as leadership and management skills, mega trends and business conceptualization. The studies also include versatile business development and promotion methods such as coaching, networking, service design, LEAN, digitalization and future forecast methods. In addition, they offer you future-oriented perspectives on emerging technologies. 

The degrees are Master’s level (second-cycle) qualification of 90 credits in total.

International Business Management degree is offered as part-time studies and it takes approximately two years to complete the studies. The degree consists of blended studies to be accomplished while working. It means that the studies are offered part-time and take place mostly online. There will be three intensive study weeks arranged in Kajaani, Finland within the two years of studies when the students are expected to be present. During the intensive weeks, the studies are full-time. Otherwise, the studies are arranged part-time and fully via online platforms.

Please note that the studies do not require full-time attendance in Finland therefore the students are advised to apply only for a short-term visa (if applicable) for the intensive week should it require presence in Kajaani.

Global Business Management is offered as full-time studies, it takes approximately 1,5 years to complete the studies.

Eligibility

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s (first-cycle) degree qualification in any field and two years´ work experience in the field of business and commerce after the completion of the Bachelor´s degree, as well as sufficient proficiency in English. However, a minimum of 20 credits of business studies are required. Applicants with work experience in demanding specialist posts or managerial/leadership posts can be considered to have achieved the required 20 credits of business studies. 

Applicants must provide appropriate certificates of their studies and work experience (degree certificate, work certificates) to prove their eligibility within the application period.

Enclosures to the application
  • To prove your eligibility, please attach the Bachelor's degree certificate to your application in studyinfo.fi. 
  • Work certificate(s) to prove the two year's of work experience in a relevant field. 
  • A copy of an official Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. The translation must have the translator’s signature and stamp.
  • Motivation letter.
Entrace Examination (Selection of Students)

The students should have good written and oral English language skills. The students for the Master's degree will be selected based on a motivation letter and online interview (Microsoft Teams meeting).

Master's Degree in Global Business Management (full-time)

The online entrance examination consists of 2 parts:
1) Written part: The motivation letter must be attached to the application form by 22 September 2021 until 3 pm Finnish time.
2) Oral part: Personal Interview (Microsoft Teams meeting) Only for those who pass the first part.
Those who pass the written part (1) will be invited to the oral part of the entrance exam which will take place on 25 – 29 October. The invitations to the interview will be sent by email on 11 – 15 October.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees and scholarships

Studies start spring 2022

The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA citizens at KAMK is 6 000 euros per academic year. For the first year, an early bird scholarship is available for those who accept their study place within 14 days from the notice of admissions. The early bird scholarship covers 15 % to the tuition fee and is directly used to reduce the tuition fee, ie. the student pays 5 100 euros as the tuition fee for the first study year.

The payment is done at the same time when accepted student confirms his/her study place at KAMK. It is not possible to pay in installments.

Studies start autumn 2022

The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA citizens at KAMK is 10 000 euros per academic year. For the first year, an early bird scholarship is available for those who accept their study place within 14 days from the notice of admissions. The early bird scholarship covers 20 % to the tuition fee and is directly used to reduce the tuition fee, ie. the student pays 8000 euros as the tuition fee for the first study year.

The payment is done at the same time when accepted student confirms his/her study place at KAMK. It is not possible to pay in installments.

There is no tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens or exchange students.
