Master's Degree in International Business Management 

The Master's degree will provide you with a deeper understanding of different aspects of business in the fast changing global operating environment. The studies focus on topics such as leadership and management skills, mega trends and business conceptualization. The studies also include versatile business development and promotion methods such as coaching, networking, service design, LEAN, digitalization and future forecast methods. In addition, they offer you future-oriented perspectives on emerging technologies. 

The degree is a Master’s level (second-cycle) qualification of 90 credits in total. It takes approximately two years to complete as it is offered part-time. The degree consists of blended studies to be accomplished while working. It means that the studies are offered part-time and take place mostly online. There will be three intensive study weeks arranged in Kajaani, Finland within the two years of studies when the students are expected to be present. During the intensive weeks, the studies are full-time. Otherwise, the studies are arranged part-time and fully via online platforms.

Please note that the studies do not require full-time attendance in Finland therefore the students are advised to apply only for a short-term visa (if applicable) for the intensive week.

The intensive week will be arranged on 7 - 11 September 2020 (5 days).

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s (first-cycle) degree qualification in any field and two years´ work experience in the field of business and commerce after the completion of the Bachelor´s degree, as well as sufficient proficiency in English. However, a minimum of 20 credits of business studies are required. Applicants with work experience in demanding specialist posts or managerial/leadership posts can be considered to have achieved the required 20 credits of business studies. 

Applicants must provide appropriate certificates of their studies and work experience (degree certificate, work certificates) to prove their eligibility within the application period. 


KAMK´s separate application to Master´s Degree in International Business Management is from 18 March to 1 April 2020 (for studies starting in autumn 2020).

Enclosures to the application
  • To prove your eligibility, please attach the Bachelor's degree certificate to your application in studyinfo.fi. 
  • Work certificate(s) to prove the two year's of work experience in a relevant field. 
  • A copy of an official Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. The translation must have the translator’s signature and stamp.
  • Pre-task: selections are based on the pre-task that should be downloaded on the application form.
Pre-task (selection of students)

The students for the Master's degree will be selected based on pre-task. The pre-task must be submitted by 8 April 2020.

The students should have good written and oral English language skills. Those who pass the pre-task, will be invited to a Skype-interview. 

Note: entrance examination results from other UAS will not be accepted.

Tuition fees
The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA citizens at KAMK is 6 000 euros per academic year. There is no tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens or exchange students. The payment is done at the same time when accepted student confirms his/her study place at KAMK. It is not possible to pay in installments.
