Master's Degree in International Business Management 

The Master's degree will provide you with a deeper understanding of different aspects of business in the fast changing global operating environment. The studies focus on topics such as leadership and management skills, mega trends and business conceptualization. The studies also include versatile business development and promotion methods such as coaching, networking, service design, LEAN, digitalization and future forecast methods. In addition, they offer you future-oriented perspectives on emerging technologies.

The degree is a Master’s level (second-cycle) qualification of 90 credits in total. It takes approximately two years to complete as it is offered part-time. The degree consists of blended studies to be accomplished while working. It means that the studies are offered part-time and take place mostly online. There will be three intensive study weeks arranged in Kajaani, Finland within the two years of studies when the students are expected to be present. During the intensive weeks, the studies are full-time. Otherwise, the studies are arranged part-time and fully via online platforms.

Please note that the studies do not require full-time attendance in Finland therefore the students are advised to apply only for a short-term visa (if applicable) for the intensive weeks. 

The intensive weeks will be arranged as follows: 

  • Studies start on 7 - 11 September 2020 (5 days)
  • The second intensive week: 18 - 21 January 2021 (4 days)
  • The third intensive week: September 2021 (4 days)

Eligibility

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s (first-cycle) degree qualification in any field and two years´ work experience in the field of business and commerce after the completion of the Bachelor´s degree, as well as sufficient proficiency in English. However, a minimum of 20 credits of business studies are required. Applicants with work experience in demanding specialist posts or managerial/leadership posts can be considered to have achieved the required 20 credits of business studies. 

Applicants must provide appropriate certificates of their studies and work experience (degree certificate, work certificates) to prove their eligibility within the application period. 

Application
The application period takes place on 8 - 22 January 2020. Online application is available at the website www.studyinfo.fi. The attachments required to complete your application can be downloaded directly to the application form online. 
Enclosures to the application
  • To prove your eligibility, please attach the Bachelor's degree certificate to your application in studyinfo.fi. 
  • A copy of an official Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate must be provided, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages. The translation must have the translator’s signature and stamp.
  • Work certificate(s) to prove the three year's of work experience in a relevant field. 
Entrance exams

Eligible applicants will be invited to take an entrance exam.  The entrance exam will be arranged on April 2020 in Kajaani. 

The entrance exam consists of two parts: written part and interview. Both written and oral English language skills are tested in the examination. There is no pre-reading material for the exam. The applicants must pass all exam parts to be selected for admission. 
Note: entrance examination results from other UAS will not be accepted.

Tuition fees
The tuition fee for non-EU/EEA citizens at KAMK is 6 000 euros per academic year (both Bachelor's degrees and Master's degrees). There is no tuition fee for EU/EEA citizens or exchange students. The payment is done at the same time when accepted student confirms his/her study place at KAMK. It is not possible to pay in installments.

In addition to the tuition fee, the students must pay for their study materials and for their own living costs. The average monthly living expenses for a student living in Finland are approximately 700 – 900 euros. This may vary depending on personal circumstances. When applying for a residence permit in Finland, non-EU/EEA nationals need to demonstrate that they have at least 560 euros per month at their disposal – in addition to the tuition fee. Read more
