The studies affecting the following year’s scholarship must be completed within the previous academic year (between 1.8. – 31.7.). All the credits must be in the records by 31 August/7 January depending on the deadline of the tuition fee payment. Accredited credits from previous education will not be considered as part of the completed studies.

Students don´t have to apply for the scholarship separately, the credits will be checked from everyone.

The Bachelor's Degree students can apply for a scholarship based on a Finnish language level test completed during the academic year. The accepted test is the National certificate of language proficiency (YKI), intermediate level or higher. In case the student has passed the test earlier, student must pass a higher level to be eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship is worth 3 000 euros and it is directly used to reduce the tuition fee. The student can only receive the scholarship based on Finnish language once during student´s studies.

The students apply for the scholarship in yearly with a separate application at the same time as they are obligated to pay the tuition fee (1-15 August/1-15 December).

It is possible to receive the scholarship both for the Finnish language and for progress in the studies (completing 55 credits per year) on the same year. The scholarships will be reduced from the following year’s tuition fee.

How to get the scholarship?
First year students who are required to pay the tuition fee can have Early Bird scholarship by accepting their study place and paying their tuition fee within 14 days from the notice of admission.

For the second year onward, if students know that they are granted the scholarship, they can reduce the scholarship amount from the next year´s tuition fee. In September, student's credits will be reviewed and if the student has completed 55 credits or more, the scholarship is granted and student does not have to pay the rest of the tuition fee. If the student hasn't completed required amount of credits (55 cr), student has to pay the rest of the tuition fee by 15 September/15 January. Please note that the credits are counted cumulatively, ie. 55 credits after the first year, 110 credits after the second year etc. Accredited credits from previous education will not be considered as part of the completed studies.
