Entrance examinations

All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility will be invited to the entrance examinations. Invitations will be sent by e-mail. It is not possible to be accepted without taking an entrance exam.


The International Business entrance examination is arranged in co-operation with FINNIPS network (www.finnips.fi), i.e. KAMK will accept entrance exams completed in the same entrance exam group in a different University of Applied Sciences.

if you have applied for more than one preference within the same entrance exam group you will only receive one invitation to an entrance examination of your first/highest preference for which you have achieved a sufficient amount of points during the initial selection process.  

International Business entrance exam 2017 consists of written part (essay, multiple-choice questions, tasks of applied mathematics and logic) and group discussion. There is a compulsory English language part in the exam. The total duration of the written part of the International Business entrance examination will be 3 hours. 

The ability to communicate fluently in English, both speaking and writing, is prerequisite for admission. Therefore, applicants must pass all parts of the exam in order to be selected for admission. Applicants scoring below the minimum points of any of the sections will fail the exam.
Maximum points from the entrance exam are 40 points. Applicants scoring less than 12 points for the exam are not eligible for admission.

KAMK arranges Sports and Leisure Management entrance examination in Finland (Kajaani) as well as abroad in cooperation with FINNIPS network.

In Kajaani the entrance examination may include a motivational essay, an evaluation of the applicant's motor skills through a series of sport tests, an evaluation of his/her instruction skills during a coaching session (short task is given during the entrance exam) and an interview.  

FINNIPS sports exam (countries are listed below): The entrance examination may include a written part, group discussion and a series of sports tasks. The written part and a group discussion will be performed during FINNIPS entrance exam day. The sports tasks will be requested to be submitted separately via video according to the detailed instructions that will be sent to the applicants right after FINNIPS entrance examination .    

Further details of the entrance exam and necessary clothing will be mentioned in the invitation letter.

Note: for Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Leisure Management entrance examination results from other UAS will not be accepted. 



The entrance examination places emphasis on aptitude for studying the field. The exam includes motivation section, essay/article section and mathematical/logical thinking section.

KAMK accepts an entrance examination taken in the same entrance exam group at another university of applied sciences.

Sports and Leisure Management exam - 18 August 2017 at 9-14

Tourism Exam - 18 August 2017 at 14-18

The exams take place in Kajaani. It is not possible to be selected without participating the exam. Furthermore, the entrance exam results from the previous exams or other UAS will not be accepted.

There is no pre-reading material.

Entrance exam abroad (in cooperation with FINNIPS-network)

KAMK arranges the entrance exams outside of Finland in cooperation with the Finnips network. The entrance exam countries in autumn 2018 intake will be published on this page in October.
